How do I know a voice actor's studio is professional?
The simplest test is the demo itself. If you hear zero background noise, no room echo, and no distracting mouth sounds, the studio is doing its job. What makes that possible is acoustic isolation and a clean signal chain — a properly treated booth, a broadcast-grade microphone, and a professional preamp. My setup is a Studiobricks 3-wall booth, an Austrian Audio oc818 microphone, and a Rupert Neve 5012 preamp, which meets the delivery standards required by major audiobook publishing houses like Audible, and international studios. But the point isn't the brand names — it's that when you press play, you should hear the story and nothing else.
How long does voice over delivery take?
It depends entirely on what you're hiring for. Audiobook production typically runs five to six weeks from first recording to final mastered files — that includes narration, professional editing, and quality review. Rushing that process costs quality. Commercial and corporate projects are a different rhythm — often 24 to 48 hours from session to delivery. Timing expectations also vary by market. US commercial clients tend to work on tight, sometimes same-day turnarounds, while EU studios often book sessions weeks or months in advance. Neither approach is better — they're just different workflows. Planning ahead means better results for everyone.
