A great audiobook begins with everything the author brought to the page.
The narrator's job is to illuminate what’s already there.
I offer full-service audiobook production — from meticulous proofing through retail-ready mastering — built around an authentic, vivid performance.
Promo clips included.
Book to Audiobook
1. We connect — you tell me about your book — the story, the characters, your timeline.
No commitment, just a conversation.
2. You hear — a custom audition from your manuscript — pick a moment you'd love to hear, or just send
Chapter One. This is where you hear whether I'm the right fit.
3. There's prep — with your input. You fill out the Author/Narrator Guide sheet (→ download here)
for names, accents, tricky terms, any character or vocal quirks — so nothing slips through.
4. I narrate — the audiobook. Then the recording is proof-listened against your manuscript for misreads, corrected,
edited and mastered to retail-ready specification for the distribution outlet you've chosen.
5. It's done — and ready to upload, along with short promo clips you can use to market the finished audiobook.
How Much & How Long
How much will it cost?
Audiobook narration is priced per finished hour (PFH) — in other words, by the length of the finished audiobook. One finished hour of audio represents up to 8 hours of production — incl. manuscript prep, narration, proofing, editing and mastering — so a 10-hour audiobook can take up to 80 hours to produce.
To estimate your book in audio hours, divide the word count by 9,300:
a 90,000-word novel runs roughly 10 finished hours.*
$ 385 PFH for the fully produced audiobook —
narration, proofing, editing, mastering, and promo clips.
$ 350 PFH for a series (2+ titles).
Projects under an hour are billed as one finished hour.
Royalty share is available for select projects
*Quotes are based on estimated finished length.
Any difference in final run time is reconciled at delivery.
How long will it take?
Allow approximately two months, depending on the length of the book and my schedule.
I'll give you a delivery date with your quote, so you can plan your launch.
Who Narrates My Book?
You decide.
Either Christa Lewis or → Pippa Jayne based on level of spice and the brand you want attached to the audiobook.
Both Christa and Pippa have been reviewed by AudioFile Magazine (now at Kirkus) and there have been some lovely highlights along the way - 10 Earphones awards and a SOVAS Voice Arts Award → Reviews
Narrating your own book?
I offer audiobook consultation and directing for authors — whether you want help before you begin, guidance while recording, or an experienced ear on a finished narration before you release it → Consulting & directing for authors

I am always listening for the author's voice

When I was looking for a narrator, I wanted someone who could bring my books and, more specifically, my characters to life. I interviewed a lot of them, but Christa and I hit it off from the first time we spoke.
When she provided me with an audio sample of my book, I knew I’d found the narrator who could and did breathe life into my characters. And wow, can she pull off emotional angst and make it believable! So much so that my audiobook of the psychological suspense, The Door at the Top of the Stairs, won the Audiobook Reviewers Choice Award for Best Author/Narrator Team of 2022.

When I first heard Christa Lewis audition I knew it had to be her. She took the time to get into character, differentiate voices, and brought my written words to life. That was in 2015.
Since then, I have written four more books. Christa Lewis was not only the best voice actor for my work, but she was also my only choice.
Ms. Lewis is professional, straightforward, thorough, dedicated, and committed to doing her best work

Christa Lewis is a consummate professional voice actor who took the time to understand my story, and bring the many contrasting characters to life.
From start to finish, Christa and I interacted as needed for questions, comments, and suggestions. Our collaboration brought my audiobook a 5-star review from Chanticleer Book Reviews.
Highly Recommended.
